About The New York Coffee Festival

 

The New York Coffee Festival is New York's flagship coffee event, celebrating the burgeoning specialty coffee scene in this great city.
 

 

THE NEW YORK COFFEE FESTIVAL 2023


The event, now in its seventh year, sees over 12,000 coffee lovers and industry professionals from the US and abroad.

Returning for another year from October 6 - 8, 2023, the festival promises to be an unmissable event for discerning coffee lovers and those working in the coffee scene.

The festival will feature live experiences from over 100 coffee, food and equipment suppliers. Visitors will enjoy endless free coffee tastings, interactive workshops, demonstrations from world-class baristas, delicious street food, intoxicating coffee cocktails, live music, art and so much more.
 
Based on the highly successful programs in London and Amsterdam, this caffeinated event is an unmissable show for all serious coffee lovers and key industry stakeholders. 
 

Supporting Charity


100% of all profits will be donated to Project Waterfall with funds directly entrusted to NYC-based charity: water to support their life changing water projects in coffee growing regions. For more information about charity: water and their recent projects, go to www.charitywater.org.

So, what is The New York Coffee Festival all about?
The New York Coffee Festival celebrates New York’s vibrant coffee scene.
 
With over 12,000 plus coffee lovers and foodies, professional baristas, coffee shop owners and top decision-makers expected to attend, The New York Coffee Festival promises to be an unmissable event for all coffee lovers and industry folk alike.

Now in its seventh year, the festival features artisan coffee and gourmet food stalls, demonstrations from world-class baristas, as well as all the coffee you could possibly drink, live music, art and much more.
What does my ticket include?
On top of entry to The New York Coffee Festival for a three hour session you can expect unlimited free coffee, workshops and live music! Learn about the various different ways to make and brew coffee at home in the Lab, visit your favorite barista at the True Artisan Café and graze your way through the street food market. 
 
You won’t go home hungry, thirsty, or uncaffeinated!
When and where?
The New York Coffee Festival will be held October 6 - 8, 2023 at the Metropolitan Pavilion.

The entrance can be found between West 18th and 19th Streets, Metropolitan Pavilion, New York, NY 10011.
What are the daily sessions?

The event will open on Friday from 11:00am-6:00pm for a trade session

How do I get there?
The following subway lines have stops near to Metropolitan Pavilion
 
  • The No. 1 train; from the 18th St. stop, walk east to 125 W. 18th St.,
  • The No. 2 or 3 train; from the 14th St. stop, walk uptown (north) to 18th St. and 7th Avenue; turn right onto 18th St., and proceed east to 125 W. 18th St.
  • The A, C, or E train; from the 14th St. stop, walk uptown (north) on 8th Avenue to 18th St.; turn right onto 18th St., then, crossing over 7th Avenue, proceed to 125 W. 18th St.
  • The M, F or L train; from the 14th St. stop, walk uptown (north) on 6th Avenue to 18th St., then turn left onto 18th St. and proceed to 125 W. 18th St.
  • The No. 4, 5, 6, Q, R, N, or W train; from the 14th St. stop at Union Square, walk uptown to 18th St. and then proceed west to 125 W. 18th St.

Driving:

From Long Island or Brooklyn
Take the Long Island Expressway (LIE; Route 495) to the Queens Midtown Tunnel. Go straight across 37th Street to 7th Avenue; turn left onto 7th Avenue. Proceed downtown on 7th Avenue to 18th Street; turn left onto 18th Street. Proceed to 125 West 18th Street.

From New Jersey
Take the George Washington Bridge to the Henry Hudson Parkway South (Downtown-bound). Turn left onto 26th Street. Proceed on 26th Street to 7th Avenue; turn right onto 7th Avenue. Go to 18th Street and turn left. Proceed to 125 West 18th Street.

From the Lincoln Tunnel
Proceed to 34th Street. On 34th Street, turn right upon 7th Avenue, and continue downtown (south) on 7th Avenue to 18th Street; turn left off 7th Avenue onto 18th Street. Proceed to 125 West 18th Street.

From North of New York City
Take the West Side Highway/Henry Hudson Parkway South to 26th Street; turn left onto 26th Street. Proceed to 7th Avenue; turn right onto 7th Avenue. Proceed downtown on 7th Avenue to 18th Street; turn left onto 18th Street. Proceed to 125 West 18th Street
Where does the money go?
100% of all profits from The New York Coffee Festival will go towards Project Waterfall - a charity working in partnership with NYC-based charity: water to bring clean water, sanitation and education to coffee-growing communities.

It aims to raise more than $1.5million to deliver safe drinking water and sanitation projects for up to 100,000 people, specifically in coffee-producing countries in Africa.
 
Since 2011 they have raised over $2 million and changed more than 80,000 lives across 7 countries, with The New York Coffee Festival contributing over $290,000 towards this work.
Is the site wheelchair-accessible?
Yes, the facility has elevators if necessary. Arrangements will be made to ensure that all guests can easily access every section of The Festival.
Where are the restrooms?
Restrooms for both men and women are located on all floors of the festival with the inclusion of disabled toilets.
Is this a child friendly event?
Most definitely, although we do ask that any child under the age of 16 is accompanied by an adult.
Do children have free entry?
Children under age 10 have free entry to the Festival. Children over the age of 10 require a ticket.
Can I bring a picnic?
The New York Coffee Festival attracts some of the best gourmet and street food producers in New York who will be giving out nibbles throughout the day, and there will also be plenty of food and drink to buy on site. With so many food options there really won’t be any reason to bring a picnic!
Will there be food for vegetarians and vegans?
Absolutely. You’ll find plenty of tasty food if you’re a vegetarian or vegan.
Will there be photography & filming?
Yes. All official photographers and film crew will have identification.
 
Public Photography and Video Filming
We are sure you will understand that we wish to protect the integrity of the festival and exhibitors. If you are going to take pictures or film with a video camera or cell phone camera you need to follow some common sense rules. You are free to record your own visit to the Festival for your own personal home use but you cannot sell any photos or moving images of the festival for commercial or other gain. Please respect the privacy of other Festival attendees who may not want to be filmed. Please do not bring any professional equipment with you and please be aware of health and safety issues.
 
Photography, video, audio recording and children
The safeguarding of children is our first priority when using recorded content. We adhere closely to set guidelines on the use of images and video online, taking special care to protect a child’s privacy and never identify children by name unless we have specific permission to do so.
Will there be a coat check?
Yes, a coat check will be available through a donation to Project Waterfall and is located by the main entrance on the first floor. Any items brought into the venue are your responsibility. The organizers and venue management team cannot take responsibility for loss or theft.
Can I smoke?
No. Smoking will not be allowed inside the building.
What about security?
For your safety the Festival will have dedicated Security Guards. If you see any problems or incidents please report them to security staff or the police.

First Aid
 
Qualified first aiders are available throughout the event. In the first instance please contact a member of festival staff or security.
 
Fire Procedure
 
A fire marshalling system is employed. In the event of fire or evacuation please follow the fire marshal’s direction.
 
Glass & Bottles
 
Are strictly prohibited at the event and may be confiscated if found.
 
Information Point
 
There will be an Info Desk located at the event. Please refer to the event guide and festival map or ask a member of festival staff, who will be happy to help.
 
Lost or Found Property
 
Please hand any found property to a member of the onsite event team, at the Info Desk or entrance/exit. After the event property will be kept for three months and can be claimed by emailing info@newyorkcoffeefestival.com.
Can I exchange or refund my ticket?
We normally operate a no refund, no exchange policy. These terms and conditions are clearly displayed on our booking page at the time of purchase.

What’s the difference between industry and consumer days?
The industry day
The New York Coffee Festival will open for one industry day on Friday, October 6.

The Industry Day Program is meant solely for trade professionals and includes a series of workshops, seminars, product tastings and other industry specific experiences.

The Lab area of the festival will also host numerous free, relevant seminars and workshops that will provide attendees with the latest market insight, innovative ideas and ready-to-implement training & vocational skills. 

The consumer days
The New York Coffee Festival will be open to consumers from Saturday, October 7 -  Sunday, October 8.
 
The celebrations will continue into the weekend with free tastings and demonstrations from world-class baristas, interactive workshops, street food, coffee cocktails, live music, DJs, art exhibitions and much more.

100% of all profits will go towards Project Waterfall, a charity that delivers clean water projects to coffee-producing countries. These funds will then be donated to charity: water to carry out their clean water projects. For more information about charity: water, please visit www.charitywater.org.
